We feel that it is important for you to know that all our chairs are Class1 medical devices as defined by EC Directive 93/42 (the Medical Devices Directive) and we are CE registered with the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency).
We are an ethical company that is socially responsible and cares about our environment and with this in mind we decided to install a wood waste heating system that burns all our waste wood, which in turn heats our factory and eliminates the need to hire skips to remove waste. We have taken this a stage further by installing a state of the art Wood Mill that includes a CNC routing machine, which dramatically reduces waste in the production of our wood frames.
Furthermore, we have adopted a policy of local sourcing in an effort to further reduce our carbon footprint and we are delighted to say that this has resulted in over 90% of our materials and services being provided by 19 local companies.
We are one of only a few chair manufacturers that handles every element of the construction of our products from design to wood frame build, cutting of the fabric and foams, sewing the fabric, then upholstering each and every chair. All our factory staff are time-served tradesmen and women who served their apprenticeships with Christie Tyler group companies.
We operate a 'Green & Sustainable Refurbishment Programme' for all types of furniture which is a proven way to save you money as opposed to purchasing new furniture, but of equal importance, it is an environmentally responsible and 'Green' approach that offers practical sustainability. We are fully equipped to refurbish large volumes of furniture such as in hospital waiting rooms and nursing homes, and we can guarantee that you will get amazing results.
